Code of Conduct | TiE Melbourne

TiE Melbourne, as a part of the international organisation of leading entrepreneurs, is committed to providing an exclusive peer-to-peer and event-driven learning and networking community. The integrity of our organisation and the respect among our members are crucial to our long-term success. Therefore, we expect all members, vendors, and sponsors to adhere to the following code of conduct:

Upholding Standards of Integrity and Professionalism

Confidentiality and Integrity: Members must respect the confidentiality and integrity of individuals and companies involved. Transparency about conflicts and avoidance of gray areas in the legal or moral code is essential.

Good Samaritan Policies: Members should follow good Samaritan policies and the spirit of non-solicitation, creating an environment to share and give, rather than take. This includes understanding and respecting members’ ability to attend events and interact with each other in a safe and relaxed environment.

Professional Conduct: Members are expected to maintain exemplary standards of professional conduct and high ethical standards in the operation of their ventures.

Timely Commitments: Members should strive to understand and fulfil their obligations to the organisation and commitments made on a timely and productive basis, including undertaking to volunteer in connection with events.

Professionalism and Courtesy: Members must maintain standards of professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with staff, sponsors, and other volunteers. This includes respecting intellectual property and recognizing the importance of others’ reputation and character. Verbal abuse of staff or fellow members will not be tolerated and may lead to expulsion.

Commitment to Integrity, Professionalism, and Inclusivity

Public Conduct: Members should maintain respectful and inclusive behaviour in public settings, including events and online platforms. Discriminatory, harassing, or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.

Inclusive Behaviour: Members should strive to create an inclusive environment that respects and values diversity. Discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other characteristic is unacceptable.

Consequences of Misconduct: Failure to act in a professional manner at events or with members could lead to non-renewal or termination of membership with no refund.

Feedback and Communication: Members are encouraged to send feedback, thoughts, and ideas directly to the Board of Directors.

By adhering to this code of conduct, members contribute to creating a positive, respectful, and inclusive community within TiE Melbourne.
